Getting
ready for Smoky Mountain Meet - including SMI rules
•Be
prepared with ALL equipment – 2 pairs of goggles, adjusted and ready to use.
•Stay away from the creek.
•Label all belongings ; No Pets ; No Radios (without earphones)
•Stay away from the creek.
•Any Person caught in the act of vandalism or
disorderly conduct will be asked to leave the meet and will face prosecution.
•Stay away from the creek.
•Be prepared to meet with a coach at the beginning of each specific event for
last minute instruction.
[i.e. ALL Backstrokers will meet before
first group goes to swim backstroke]
•Stay
away from the creek.
•Touch the timing plates hard to ensure the devices record your finish.
•Stay away
from the creek.
•No Shorts are to be worn on deck.
Remove extra clothes before reporting to Clerk of Course.
•Stay
away from the creek.
•A False Start Rope will be used. If there is a false start, the rope will
drop into the lanes. If you run into the rope, stop and return to the wall
to start again.
•Stay
away from the creek.
New parents and swimmers.
You will hear the phrase, "stay away form the creek" over and over at SMI.
Please keep your swimmers under the tent or with you at all times. If you
leave the tent area be sure to inform the team parent. Team parents
are not expected to go out of the tent area to locate a swimmer for his/her
event. Help make the volunteers' jobs easier by staying in our team area.
